Meet Joe Parfitt
Meet Joe
Joseph Anthony Parfitt was born and raised in eastern Pennsylvania, the eldest son of an Army Special Forces officer and an Army nurse. Following in his parents’ footsteps, Joe joined the Army at eighteen. He served in Europe as an airborne infantryman and deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan before being stationed at Fort Bragg in 2011, where he became a Civil Affairs Operator.
While serving, Joe used his military education benefits to earn both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. After honorably retiring in 2020, he transitioned to civilian life, working in finance and construction before answering a new call to service as an educator in Moore County Schools, where his three children have also attended.
Joe lives in Southern Pines with his wife, three children, a dog, and a cat. His hobbies include camping, hiking, and gardening. These activities reflect his love of the outdoors and his commitment to family and community.
Dedicated to public service, Joe has volunteered with several local charities, including Dreams 4 All, which provides beds to North Carolinians affected by hurricanes. He also helped establish a community garden to support local seniors with fresh produce.
Joe has been an active member of his local precinct, serving as vice chair and supporting voter registration drives, canvassing efforts, and local candidates. He was nominated to run for the state Assembly out of a deep commitment to the people of Moore and Richmond Counties and a belief in a more just and responsive government. Joe is running to be a voice for all North Carolinians, not just those with the wealth or connections to influence policy.

Education
Increase investment in public education by raising pay for teachers and education support staff, ensuring our schools can recruit and retain the professionals students deserve and North Carolina's future depends upon.
Health Care
All North Carolinians deserve access to affordable, high-quality healthcare, regardless of where they live. It is a fundamental human right.
Zoning and Community Planning
Protect local authority over zoning and community planning. Neither Raleigh politicians nor outside developers should decide how they grow.
Job and Career Opportunities = Living Wages
Increased investment in Richmond and Sandhills Community College so local residents can access education and training for today's in-demand careers. We have a quality workforce and don't need to import expertise. Let's build it locally.
Gerrymandering
Joe is aware of the partisan gerrymandering in North Carolina and will work tirelessly to redraw the maps to better represent the citizens of the Old North State.
WE'RE GRATEFUL
FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
This campaign is powered by neighbors, not special interests. Every contribution helps us connect with voters across our district and build the grassroots momentum needed to win.
Get Involved
and Make a Difference
Our community deserves a representative who shows up, listens, and works every day to improve the lives of our families, veterans, small businesses, farmers, and educators. North Carolina is strongest when we stand together and put people above politics.
